I would have like to just received the lens I purchased without being called to be sold extra add ons, warranties, and accessories. I do appreciate being upgraded to the faster shipping though and if I get a good price, a little hassle is worth it!	Overall Rating

They gave me really fast, really excellent service; I got a confirmation email asking me to call them; because of the reviews here I was braced for some "up selling," which in fact, they did. They make no bones about selling "gray market" or "parallel" goods, and they offered to sell me a USA warranty for the Canon camera I wanted to buy. I called Canon USA to check, and the rep said that it was NOT POSSIBLY, nor was it legal to do this, In other words, the warranty Ryther would have sold me would not have been legally valid. I was going to just say, "the hell with it," and buy the camera from them anyway, but I just couldn't pull the trigger on it. I decided to go with a local retailer, pay about $120 more, but get a US warranty (and get my camera a WHOLE lot sooner). I cancelled my order with Ryther, they couldn't have been nicer; it was no problem at all. They seem like a great company.	Overall Rating

He was sincerely concerned with the treatment I had received as a customer and listened attentively to what had happened. Once Michael understood the circumstances he was extremely apologetic and did make things right in the end. I felt that I was still valued as customer even though some of his staff had placed a black mark on his company. After talking with Michael I am convinced his intentions are sincere based on our conversation and the resolution. There is now hope that I will strongly consider doing business with Ryther Camera in the future, but will be cautious and selective with who I place an order with.	Overall Rating

I found about this when he called me to confirm what I had done. With that call he was able to save me from having the hassle of returning one of them and waiting for the credit in my bank account. Less than 2 hours later I received a call from a service rep asking if I wanted to add a longer life battery and an ext. battery charger, of which I agreed to. He then said to me well I have a bad news that the camera, even though there 2 remaining in stock, was sold out and the 2 remaining cameras were shipped since I placed the order. He then said they have the "newer" version of this camera's model and considering my total price with add-on is $1500 that he can offer me the "newer" version for approx the same price. He then rambled off a bunch of different items saying it was the same camera, luckily was in front of my computer, and looked up the rating at consumer reports. Surprisingly it was the lowest ranked canon camera, a larger size and priced 10% cheaper. When I told him it was not the same camera and to cancel my order he then became hostile and immediately hung up the phone. Retailer Response (02/01/2012): Hey shoppers, I spoke to this customer and he is rightfully upset because the salesman made a mistake and didn't check properly the next model available for the canon camcorder. None the less, I apologized for the misunderstanding and we also spoke to canon to clear up any confusions about the product and next model available. I was watching my credit card and didn't see a charge for 4 days. At that point we called them. Same thing, upsell, upsell, upsell, we were sucked in to that. But we got "UPGRADED" to fed x shipping and eagerly awaited the tracking information. that was a week ago. No tracking info. We have called them a number of time, and they insist that we will get the camera "before christmas".. seems that they go out of their way to NOT put the camera in the mail if you don't pay the extra $150 shipping.. At any rate it has now been more than 10 business days since our initial order and we have no indication that the camera is on the way.	Overall Rating
